Everything goes to the dogs Story-line

Date: 21 October 1936
Their European continent is on the verge of becoming a place of strict order or becoming a place of separation and stiff cooperation. The most recent major event to happen was the movement of
armed forces into the region of Abyssinia, enforced by the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. Only a few weeks later, civil war erupted in Spain. General Francisco Franco, ruler of Spain was forced to call in the aid of Adolf Hitler and his regiment to help fight against those in rebellion.

There is a terrifying new type of warfare that the German’s have developed, the Luftwaffe has been practicing their blitzkrieg. This type of maneuver is fast and creates confusion within the opposing enemy forces. Recently, Count Ciano, son-in-law of Mussolini, had ended negotiations with Hitler forming what was to become known as the Axis of Power.

Further afield in England, there were discussions being held on the coronation of King Edward VIII. This royal occasion was to take place early the following year. The scandalous affair with King Edward and Wallis Simpson were kept under wraps, even the press agreed not to publish anything, to avoid any embarrassment.

Elsewhere in England, on a grand estate, there was a 70th birthday party happening. The celebrations were for Sir Henry Brown, who was given knighthood after the War for the part he played during such terrible times. He was an avid reader, historian, and writer, who started up his own newspaper, The Plain Truth Tribune. His newspaper ensured all who read through its pages, were well informed with what was happening on the front lines.

The whole event was a grand affair, with a copious amount of food and drink that could choke a
donkey. It seems that somebody did choke on something, as Sir Henry’s body was discovered in the library the very next morning. At first, it was believed to be an accidental death, but on closer
inspection, the authorities finally declared foul play.

The man had been a dog lover, he, in fact, had several running around the estate, from the smaller
Spaniel to the larger Wolf Hound. He much preferred their furry company to those of the human
variety. He was even considering leaving his vast fortune to the District Canine Society, he trusted
nobody else. This, of course, would create quite a stir when it came to the reading of the Will.
